I am intentional.
I am faithful.
I am powerful.
Intentions are seeds that are planted in which you desire to grow. Intentions can be phrases, a single word, or a feeling. I have been setting intentions for quite a while. Each time I set the intention, it happens, which means there is something powerful about our words and our thoughts. The universe will conspire to set whatever our intention is in motion. The odd part is you do not control the HOW or the WHERE, but you have some power over the WHAT.
I have a Women’s Mindset Group that meets monthly. I have started asking them how do they want to FEEL during that month. I decided to focus on feeling because of a book that I read a few months ago entitled Quantum Love by Dr. Laura Berman. She uses science to explain the power behind feelings and emotions. Dr. Berman asserts, “The energy of our emotions may be manifesting the events and relationships that occur in our lives on an entirely unspoken, unconscious, and quantum level” (p. 109). If we are intentional about our feelings and thoughts, then we can change the course of our lives.
3 Ways to Plant an Intention
At the beginning of the day
There is power when you first wake up. Your brain is refreshed. Your energy is brand new. Use it to your advantage. Take a moment and think about what you expect to occur for that day. For example, tomorrow, you know you have a very busy day full of meetings. An intention to set could be: May everyone feel respected, relaxed, and heard today. Make it simple. Once you set it, then forget it, and move on with your morning routine. Watch what happens with your meetings or what happens around you in general. It may shock you.
Choose a feeling
This has become one of my favorites. I usually do this monthly, however, you can do it whenever you’d like. Close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths—Inhale, Exhale, Inhale, Exhale, Inhale, and Exhale. Ask yourself: How do you want to feel tomorrow? Do not judge the feelings. There is no right or wrong. If you want to feel sexy, sensual, loving, intelligent, motivated, connected, inspired, content, visible, surrendered, etc, then name it. Just name what comes aloud. After saying them aloud, recite: I let it be. So it is. Again, surrender the feelings, and move on with your day.
Choose a word/phrase
An intention can be just one word. Sometimes, you may just want to plant one seed in the universe for whatever reason at any given time. This is when the one word/phrase may be of importance. There are a couple of phrases that I have come to love: 1. Everything is working for my highest good. 2. I expect something wonderful will happen to me today. I also use them when I need a reminder of the greatness of God and all that’s around me. Additionally, I have had clients who choose single words: Faith, Gratitude, Hope, etc. They choose words that fit what they want to attract more in their life. As you plant your word or phrase, forget it, and continue on with your day.
Essentially, the most important part of setting intentions is surrendering the intention. When you plant a seed in the ground, do you stand over it 24-7 waiting for it to grow? No, you water it when needed and allow the sun and the other elements to do its work. It is the same idea for setting intentions. After setting the intention, let the Universe do its work.
Please note: Sometimes, if a day gets too rough, you may need to recall your intention to remind yourself that everything will be okay.
Happy Manifesting! Let me know it goes.
