What a month! What a year of intensity, right?! It’s eclipse season and that brings its own intensity of shifts, changes, radical acceptance. So no matter what part of the world that you are on, this year so far has been a lot! If it’s not the news, it could be your personal life, your goals not going so well or going so well that you now have to dream bigger, it could be anything that’s tugging on you.
Sometimes, when life gets like that, you check out mentally like a defense or coping mechanism. So, this post isn’t about how not to do that—— we are constantly bombarded with what NOT to do, right?!
We are diving into how to make that “mental check out” aka daydream work for you! There is power in the daydream.
I just recently went to an antique store and a magnet said, “Don’t quit your daydream,” and I was like absolutely! We need to allow our daydreams to soar and eventually live them out.
The Universe (whatever you desire to call Her) hears and sees the call you are putting forth in the daydream. Remember no matter your religious beliefs, there are universal laws that are true for all of us. So, yes, your prayers and whispers are heard and answered, and we want to make sure we aren’t blocking the answers by our daydreams. Don’t quit your daydream, and at the same time, let’s have them work FOR you!
Four Ways to Level Up Your Daydreams
Okay, let’s dive into these 3 quick ways to make your daydreams work for you:
- Use your daydream to focus on what you really desire in life. Basically, use it to level up your life.
One of my favorite ways to make my daydream work for me is visualization. I visualize and put intention towards something I desire in life— it could be an ideal lifestyle, an ideal job/career, an ideal relationship, etc. I really feel into it as though it’s real at that moment in time. It can be something that will happen within the next 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 years, etc. There’s one key to this: focus on the feeling not the person. Do not interrupt someone’s freewill by including them in your daydream. There are a few exceptions to this, but 99% of the time, your situation will not fall into the exception. So, focus on you and your desired feeling.
- Use your daydream to rewrite a past situation to correct that energy.
Many times when we daydream, we are stuck in the past. Someone may have done you perceivably wrong and you want to curse them out. And that daydream becomes literally re-traumatizing yourself.
What you can do instead is use your daydream to instead rewrite the scenario to match your desired outcome. Perhaps, you were having a conversation with a friend, and you were misunderstood or you misunderstood your friend, and it ended up in a crazy argument. You can use that daydream as a way to shift that energy by visualizing both of you understanding each other, communicating in a productive way, and ending in a hug. - Use your daydream to expand your possibilities.
This is when we allow our daydreams to run free and dream BIG. Usually, when you do this, you will enter a world that you didn’t think was possible because your reality looks nothing like it. I think about this way as a means to see how big of a life the Universe has for us. You may find yourself in another career, another relationship with a partner without a face, sold out book series, sitting on a ton of money, etc. What’s possible for you expands.
I love daydreaming especially when I’m being intentional about it. It allows for us to correct some past energy, focus on some current energy for the near future, or expand our possibilities beyond our wildest dreams. So, don’t think of it as a way to avoid what’s going on but to shift the energy, so we can transmute that energy into love, joy, and possibilities.
So, thinking of our world, here is ONE sure way to make our daydreams work for THE WORLD.
4. Using one of the three strategies above, visualize the world that you desire— a world that’s filled with love, peace, kindness, compassion, and service. A world in which we listen, respect, and honor each other. Just a life or a world where everyone thrives. That’s my world based daydream; yours maybe different, and that’s okay.
This upcoming week, choose one of the four ways to intentionally use your daydreams to work for the greater good (for you and/or for the world). Let us know in the comments, how it worked for you?
***One of the Universal Laws: Be mindful that you are responsible for the energy that you put out. What you put out will come back to you multiplied.***
